Cooking is one of my favorite things to do for my son. I love making southern dishes the best.
Fine dining is something I enjoy a lot. In fact; I can appreciate it a lot more since become a parent. I love going out for nice wine and a meal without cooking or the clean-up. However it is just not realistic each day. Cooking at home is something that I genuinely enjoy although I usually only do it for others. When it is just me that day; I go out to eat...I call it my form of self care.
I created this blog post to share cool kitchen tools and products for parents. Cooking with my son is not only a bonding experience; he is learning a bit about math with measurements in recipes. I think it is important for men and children to also learn to cook. It is not just a woman's job as some people feel that I have met. Learning to make recipes is a wonderful life skill you can use your entire life possibly.
The idea that my son can pass down recipes we have "created" together or I have taught him is pretty neat to me as well. Some easy weeknight meals I would make when I was new to cooking were meatloaf, chicken and stuffing or drumsticks in the slow-cooker. Chicken and stuffing with cranberry sauce was always my friends' favorite if I made it for them.
