Fun things to do with children in the Oklahoma City metro area

I homeschool so am always on the lookout for exciting or educational things to do with my little one. Sometimes I get burnt out on parks and the zoo; so museums and indoor playgrounds tend to be my favorite activity to do.

Children's museums and indoor play places at fast food spots are also great things to do on cold and or rainy weather days. There are also plenty of libraries in the Oklahoma City area that offer free classes and activities such as story time.

Some families rent out their swimming pools; this is great for family gatherings, homeschool field trip ideas or birthdays. You may want to look into enrolling your children into Tinkergarten classes where they can explore nature, learn and socialize with children their age.

Majority of these places listed below offer birthday parties. It was always so much easier for me to host parties at locations such as these instead of having to deep clean and entertain guests. At these fun places; children can be entertained and out of the house a bit.

Check out these places we have visited and enjoyed:

Oklahoma City

Blue Zoo is located conveniently inside of Quail Springs Mall. I thought this aquarium for perfect for toddlers and pre-school aged children; especially. There is a cute gift shop and area to feed sting rays. Often times; you can catch a live mermaid show and the children love it!

Jump!Zone is going towards Moore as it is located in the south side area of Oklahoma City. It is a wonderful place to celebrate birthdays or have daycare outings. I have been various time for play dates and the children have a great time.

Edmond, Oklahoma

Kids Galaxy is located in Edmond, Oklahoma. My son loves playing here and there are some arcade games for older children. There is also a toddler area for smaller children. The staff was friendly and kind anytime we visited.

Kidz Funtown is a lot of fun for all ages of children.

We rock the spectrum was a nice place to take my little one; especially when he was a toddler. It was not as overwhelming as some of the larger indoor playgrounds. Plus; I loved the toys were mostly educational and great for sensory play. I have noticed various health professionals recommending this place in the area.

Breakaway Indoor Playground is where we celebrated my son's fifth birthday one year. There is a trampoline, slides and wifi for parents to enjoy.

Edmond Downtown Community Center offers space to rent for special occasions and events.

Mitch Park YMCA Indoor Pool is a nice option if you have a child who loves swimming. Since the pool is indoors; you can enjoy it year-round.

Jenks, Oklahoma

If you do not mind going off the beaten path a bit; there is the Oklahoma Aquarium located in Jenks, Oklahoma. There are turtles, a playground, gift shop, arcade and more.
